Senior Investment Analyst

Why this role matters 

As a direct report to the Head of Investment within the CIO team, the Senior Investment Analyst will be part the Investments, Governance and Investor Relations team where you play a key role in driving financial analysis and valuation support to the Corporate Development team in relation to the viability of business development and M&A projects, as well as broader analysis of JNbp’s broader portfolio of projects. Furthermore, you will also be taking supportive roles in executing asset and corporate M&A and partnership transactions globally to help drive JERA Nex bp’s ambitious growth strategy across Europe, UK and Asia-Pacific. 

In this role you will: 

·        Support the Investment, Governance and Investor Relations Team and the Corporate Development Team of JERA Nex bp in optimizing value across its portfolio of projects.

·        Lead financial modelling work, develop and maintain quantitative and qualitative analyses for prospective business development projects, acquisition opportunities or divestments of offshore wind assets / projects or companies.

·        Evaluate and challenge inputs to investment decisions, especially those inputs that are key to valuation results including identifying key value drivers.

·        Effectively communicate results and provide support to ensure informed senior management decisions and that financial impacts are understood by all internal and external stakeholders.

·        Lead dedicated due diligence, valuation and workstreams in assessment of various M&A and partnership opportunities. 

·        Support the investment approval process including liaising with senior management and the Development Committee of JERA Nex bp.

To be successful in the role you will bring: 

·        High-level of intellectual curiosity, positive attitude and willingness to take responsibility and contribute to a dynamic and ambitious organisation where your individual performance will make a significant difference.

·        3-5 years of experience with complex corporate and asset-level financial modelling and valuation within renewable energy or broader energy infrastructure sectors.

·        Solid understanding of relevant corporate and project finance, accounting and tax matters.

·        Experience in preparing investment analysis, presentations and decision papers and presenting those to relevant internal and external stakeholders.

·        Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience in dealing with senior professionals, consultants and investment banks.
