    • Taipei City , Taipei, Taiwan
  • Operations & Maintenance

Job description

Join us as we work to unlock the value of offshore wind! JERA Nex bp is a new joint venture between JERA, Japan’s largest power generation company, and bp, one of the world’s leading energy companies. Established to unlock the potential of offshore wind across the globe, our talented team, exciting pipeline and solid capital commitment give us the potential to become one of the world’s most successful offshore wind companies.

We entered the market with a portfolio of operational and development assets, alongside the resources, capabilities and resilience to deliver offshore wind energy at scale.

Why this role matters

The O&M Assistant Manager strengthens asset integrity and maintenance excellence across JNBP’s Taiwan offshore wind portfolio. Seconded to the Taiwan Project as Asset Integrity Engineer, the role serves as a day-to-day technical hub ensuring maintenance documentation, performance analysis and operational continuity across WTG, foundations and cables (FOU&CAB), electrical and IT systems (E&IT), and inventory.

Reporting to the JNBP Taiwan O&M Manager, the role is based at the Project office in Taichung at least three days per week and supports offshore WTG and BoP O&M activities as required. The role also serves as the project-level conduit for implementing JNBP’s Global O&M Readiness strategy, ensuring global best practices are operationalised at the Taiwan project, and acting as a knowledge bridge between the project, JNBP Taiwan O&M, and the JNBP Global O&M function.

In this role you will

Asset Integrity & Maintenance Documentation (when seconded to Project)

·       Provide, maintain and improve core maintenance documents for WTG, foundations and cables (FOU&CAB), electrical and IT systems (E&IT), and inventory — including asset integrity plans, long-term maintenance plans and evaluation reports — by coordinating with relevant persons, teams and authorities.

·       Create and compile reports requiring coordination across multiple divisions, including monthly, bi-annual and annual maintenance and asset performance reports.

·       Conduct cross-sectional projects in coordination with relevant stakeholders — for example, supporting insurers’ site surveys, LTA’s technical inquiries, and lenders’ due diligence and Q&A.

·       Support offshore WTG and substructure (foundation, subsea cable) O&M activities as needed — including site visits, work execution oversight, and post-campaign reporting — and act as a technical interface with OEM and Service and Availability Agreement (SAA) contractors.

Project On-site Presence & Operational Support

·       Be based at the Project office in Taichung at least three days per week, embedded with the project O&M team to support daily project operations and rapid issue resolution.

·       Coordinate with project IT/OT engineers to support integration between operational systems and maintenance processes.

·       Support site and office operations as needed, with focus on maintenance coordination, technical review and offshore campaign execution.

Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement

·       Conduct WTG and BoP performance analysis — including alarm trend analysis, corrective and preventive maintenance (CM/PM) effectiveness reviews, and root cause investigations — to drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

·       Utilise Power BI and other data analytics tools to generate insights, dashboards and reports that inform O&M decision-making at both project and JNBP Taiwan levels.

·       Become proficient in the project’s computerised maintenance management software (CMMS), ensuring proper system usage and accurate maintenance data populated by the project team.

·       Identify and mitigate technical risks that may impact asset integrity, availability and long-term performance.

Global O&M Readiness Strategy Implementation

·       Support the implementation of JNBP’s Global O&M Readiness strategy at the Taiwan project level, helping to operationalise global best practices through concrete maintenance, asset integrity and HSE initiatives.

·       Act as a knowledge bridge between the Taiwan Project, JNBP Taiwan O&M team, and the JNBP Global O&M function — ensuring lessons learned, performance benchmarks and best practices flow in both directions.

Job requirements

To be successful in the role you will bring

·       A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, marine or related engineering discipline; a master’s degree is an advantage.

·       5–8+ years of relevant experience in offshore wind, onshore wind, oil & gas, or large-scale industrial asset O&M, with a focus on asset integrity, maintenance planning or performance engineering.

·       Strong understanding of WTG, foundation, subsea cable and electrical and IT systems O&M practices; hands-on field experience strongly preferred.

·       Proficiency in maintenance documentation (asset integrity plans, long-term maintenance plans, evaluation reports) and in working with computerised maintenance management software (CMMS).

·       Demonstrated data analysis skills, including Power BI or equivalent tools, with the ability to translate operational data into clear insights and continuous improvement actions.

·       Strong HSE awareness and personal commitment to safety culture; existing offshore certification (e.g. GWO BST) is a plus, with willingness to obtain and maintain offshore certification post-hire essential.

·       Fluency in English required; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is strongly preferred for daily collaboration with local technical teams and contractors. Willingness to travel and work offshore as needed.

Secondment: Seconded to the Taiwan Project as Asset Integrity Engineer. Based at the Project office in Taichung City (Taiwan) at least three days per week, with the remainder at JNBP Taiwan office in Taipei. Required to support offshore WTG and substructure O&M activities as needed.
