HSSE Advisor

Why this role matters 

The HSSE Advisor will play a critical role in providing professional guidance and support to ensure health, safety, security, and environmental standards are embedded across all project stages and operations.

The role will support corporate HSSE data management including data analytics, insights and performance reporting, both internally, to our shareholders and other stakeholders as required. Lead systematic learning and support incident management.

The HSSE Advisor will engage with project teams, contractors, and partners to ensure the necessary HSSE performance policies, procedures and tools meet the needs of the business. Leverage AI and other technologies to continuously improve HSSE performance and learning, automating tasks where possible and driving efficiency.

In this role you will have the following responsibilities: 

Core

• Support the development and delivery of HSSE programmes and plans

• Support the development and continuous improvement of the business management system

• Encourage transparent reporting and a speak up culture through data reporting systems and behaviours

• Provide HSSE Advice

Incident Management & Learning

• Oversee incident management, including classification, investigation, and reporting.

• Promote a learning culture by embedding incident investigation processes.

• Identify relevant industry learnings and work with the business to drive systematic learning

• Develop and implement investigation competency programme

Data Analytics, Insights and Reporting

• Collect and validate HSSE performance data from operated and non-operated assets

• Conduct data analysis and provide actionable insights to leadership.

• Produce monthly HSSE performance reports for various stakeholders

• Continually improve data collection and analysis to improve data intelligence and automate where possible

System Administration

• Provide ongoing administration, user support and training for the Incident Management Tool.

• Support risk notification and endorsement processes.

To be successful in the role you will bring: 

• 5+ years’ experience in an HSSE role.

• Strong skills in data analytics, reporting, and performance analysis.

• Proficiency with reporting tools and HSSE management systems.

• Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across partner organizations.

• Investigation and learning experience e.g. Taproot or similar investigation tools.
